Motorola ACE3600 and MOSCAD-M are modular, expandable and upgradeable RTUs for Wide Geographical Area SCADA systems and are utilized for water, sewage, electricity distribution, oil and gas pipelines, flood warning, siren control and other industries. Motorola RTUs' unique SCADA-Data communications versatility, reliability and security provide exceptional system architecture flexibility, reliable control and enhanced system performance. Motorola RTUs allow you to build new systems or expand existing ones, using a wide selection of Master Control Center (MCC) which can communicate with remote sites over wires, fiber optics as well as a variety of advanced analog, digital, broadband wireless media and a range of data protocols.
MOSCAD-M REMOTE TERMINAL UNIT
The MOSCAD-M RTU is the smallest member of the Motorola family of RTUs. It incorporates a fixed configuration of analog and digital inputs and outputs. MOSCAD-M is capable of communicating in a network with MOSCAD and ACE3600 RTUs. Although small in size the MOSCAD-M enough has power to satisfy a wide range of SCADA applications.
MOSCAD-M has a compact size and low power consumption which makes it ideal in outdoor locations with solar and battery power sources.
Dual functionality
Provides the features of both a Remote Terminal Unit (RTU) and a Programmable Logic Controller (PLC). If the application loaded into the CPU is simple, then MOSCAD-M functions as an RTU; if the application implements a decision-making code, then MOSCAD-M functions as a PLC.
Diverse connectivity
Plug-in specialised I/O modules provide connectivity to digital and analogue sensors and provide relay and analogue outputs. Connectivity via RS-232 and RS-485 ports capable of serial data communication is also available.
Motorola Data Link Communication (MDLC) Protocol
A modern and powerful data communications protocol based on the International Standards Organisation's seven-layer protocol recommendation. It was created to be particularly robust on crowded, shared, two-way radio communication circuits. Its seven-layer OSI/ISO-compatible structure allows powerful network functions.
Space efficiency
Designed to be installed within equipment enclosures provided for pre-existing equipment, already at your site.
Diverse networks supported
MOSCAD-M commonly uses two-way radio for the communication channel. Operation on conventional, trunked or other specialised communication network supported. When two-way radio is not preferred, dial-up or leased wireline or Ethernet (10-base-T Intranet) communications is supported.
Network adaptability
Connects directly to VHF, UHF, 800 and 900 MHz trunked and conventional radios.
Programmability
MOSCAD-M is tailored to satisfy specific system requirements. Typical applications include remote monitoring and control of valves and pumps, monitoring of tank levels, pipeline cathodic protection, rain and flood, environmental pollution, chemical spill, radioactive radiation and more.
Power management
In Power Save mode, a unique capability essential for battery or solar-powered remote sites, low power consumption is achieved by providing power only to the circuits and elements activated by an application program.
